Job overview

The Training Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and implementing training curriculum at the levels set forth in Boxer Standards, as well as any affiliated branding for the hotel. The role will report directly to the GM of the hotel and work closely alongside each department head. They will ensure each associate in their respective departments have completed all necessary training agendas and any follow-up training assigned periodically by the Training Coordinator and department head. Additionally, this role will track any necessary cross-training between departments and or any internship roles that are hired. Responsibilities also include working with and through Boxer Central cases to ensure up-to-date training documents on each associate and work to help HR with any new hire paperwork they may need assistance on. This role will be centrally focused on hotel operations and food and beverage associates.

Job role and responsibilities:

  • Scheduling Day ONE orientations with all new associates, to include F&B, Front Desk, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Bell staff, Reservations banquets and catering, for filling out new hire paper work and submitting any necessary documents to HR Headquarters.
  • Introducing new associates to the current team and giving all necessary org charts and phone extensions to learn as they begin training on the position hired.
  • Setting new associates up with a tour of property and training agenda/timeline, name tags and uniforms.
  • Coordinate pertinent information given in 9am stand up meetings and Ops meeting for Managers weekly/monthly and create any cases/pass down reports as necessary.
  • Ensuring HR gets the proper documents required to be kept at the HQ up to date and timely.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner, identifying best course of service-oriented action for guest and associate issues.
  • Establish and maintain attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient hospitality at the Front Desk and all guest services areas of hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working (per brand standards).
  • Comply and ensure implementation of Boxer Property standards/policies to encourage on the job safety and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Boxer Property standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Respond to all guest requests, comments or opportunities in an attentive, service-oriented and efficient manner. Always follow-up with notification on plan of action to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Spearhead development of employee morale, ensure training of guest services personnel and always follow-up train with positive reinforcement.
Qualifications

Essential Skills Required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar hospitality / hotel operations role
  • Great communicator, written/verbal and keen interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Opera and Microsoft applications
  • Proactive approach to meeting deadlines and targets, with excellent organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor, excellent phone skills, and polished presentation
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, and work holidays and weekends as needed
