Sales Manager

Boxer Resorts is searching for a Sales Manager with a proven track record, for our Holiday Inn DFW West property. This is a nationwide company with a growing hotel division. We offer great growth opportunities, benefits and generous PTO.

This hotel has a unique sales situation. We currently have a large base business account that leaves a limited number of transient rooms to be sold during the week. The focus of this position is primarily leisure weekend business and catering sales for all days of the week.

This is a dynamic role in a critical department of a fast-growing company. This position is responsible for interacting directly with prospective and current clients to achieve maximum facility capability and room occupancy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes client base of corporate businesses through direct outside and inside sales effort for the purpose of securing business for the hotel to ensure that revenue targets are met and exceeded
  • Meet with prospective meeting planners for site inspections
  • Meet with planners post-event to discuss success of event, deficiencies, etc., and to re-boo.
  • Ability to prospect and develop new revenue generating accounts. Strong phone solicitation skills essential for the position
  • Create and maintain a specific, strategic and measurable Action Plan
  • Understands sales software and possesses the ability to generate activity reports as it relates to account activity and solicitation performance
  • Keeps abreast of market news and actively participates in memberships and networking opportunities within assigned market to promote property
  • Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, hotel and company policies and procedures.
  • Researches local competition
  • Utilize your relationship with competitor counterparts to identify market trends, opportunity dates, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years minimum leisure group and catering sales experience in a full-service, like-size hotel
  • HG experience a plus
  • Light travel on occasion
  • Must be excellent in sales process from prospecting to closing
  • Remain current with all pertinent computer software programs and equipment
  • Participate in all sales meetings and morning briefings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Other Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass both a background check and drug screen
  • Must have reliable transportation to make external sales calls
  • Must adhere to safe driving and lifting procedures
