Job Description

Boxer Property / Holiday Inn Dallas DFW West is searching for a full-time Houseman or Housewoman. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • This position cleans all corridors, vending areas and service areas on guest room floors
  • Vacuums all areas assigned or as needed
  • Inspects all assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, according to standards of hotel, have been met; reports any problem areas to the supervisor
  • Knows proper method of cleaning each area and when it should be cleaned, according to schedule, or when needed
  • Cleans designated areas such as public areas and back of the house on hotel property
  • Maintains the inventory of cleaning supplies and notifies the supervisor of inventory needs
  • Folds and places linens in appropriate locations
  • Will provide linens, toiletries and supplies for Housekeeping staff and stock floor closets, keeps inventory and reports materials needed to Supervisor
  • Remains knowledgeable about the hotels facilities including, but not limited to: hallways, vending areas, Fitness Center, Swimming Pool, Restaurant, meeting rooms, guest laundry, public restrooms, etc
  • Answers guest questions, including delivering cots, cribs, towels, pillows, irons and ironing boards, etc., to guest rooms
  • May occasionally assist Room Attendants / Housekeeping with heave items such as mattresses and soiled linen. Deliver necessary or low stocked supplies to Housekeepers or the lobby attendants

Education and Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prefer someone with some professional cleaning service / housekeeping experience but will train right individual
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, other department employees and the general public
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to walk, bend, stoop and reach repeatedly over time
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required
  • Ability to understand the essential procedures of cleaning and sanitizing
  • Ability to recognize chemical products and their designated use and comprehend information associated with cleaning products
  • Reliable transportation to work
