Job Description

Boxer Property is seeking a Carpenter to join our team! This individual will be responsible for the daily maintenance, and repair of building areas as well as other tasks assigned by the Property Manager and/or other Supervision.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily maintenance and repair of building areas.
  • Maintains and operates shop equipment, e.g., saws, planners, sanders, shapers, etc.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate complexity.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Responsible for work accomplished in accordance with published schedules.
  • Perform and document routine maintenance and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and analyze building problems and determine solutions to correct them.
  • Under limited supervision is engaged in fabrication, installation, and repair of cabinets, counterparts, furniture, doors/window, and other kinds of wood, plastic laminate, fiberglass, and metal fixtures in commercial buildings.
  • Ensure vacant suites are made ready per company standards.
  • Maintain inventory as needed for cost effective operations. Be on-call duty to respond to 24-hour emergency calls as scheduled.
  • Complete grounds work as directed by Property Manager including general clean-up of surrounding areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local codes and procedures.
  • Adheres to all Company safety policies, procedures, and programs.

Knowledge and Skill Sets:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and have a well-rounded background in repair and maintenance of most construction/maintenance and related tasks.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently with excellent attention to detail.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Have and maintain at least basic computer skills (email, CMMS, etc.).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required and/or trade certifications.
  • Skilled ability in the hanging, floating, taping, finishing of drywall and all methods of prep and painting.
  • Skilled in fabrication and installation of door/windows and their associated components. Fabrication and installation of countertops, shelf units, and other building fixtures.
  • Ability to work with wood, plastic laminates, fiberglass, and metal.
  • Ability to prepare written reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records.
  • Experience in office/shop/construction environment responsible for the maintenance of a building and operation of shop tools.

Special Requirements:

As a Carpenter, you are expected to be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking, safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the maintenance and construction trades.
